An immature Tricolored Heron hunting in a natural spillway.

The water input pipe is at the entrance pond and this pond is the first to get water when it is added. Then the water flows to the eastern pond through a natural spillway.

And when the water is flowing through the spillway, the birds congregate there because fish and other creatures are washing along with the flow.
