A little Blue Heron in the "weeds". These are tough shots because it's hard to get the camera to focus on the bird and not the stalks.

What works for me is manual focus and surprisingly, auto focus set to closest subject. Here the auto focus system looks for the closest high contrast area to focus on and often pics the bird instead of the stalks. This works particularly well for white birds that present more contrast with the background.
