A Green Heron parent with two chicks hatched out and one egg left to hatch.
I didn't see it when I took the picture, but one of the chicks has a fish sticking out of its mouth.
And interestingly the fish's head is sticking out.
Eventually the chick will swallow the fish. But first it must learn to swallow all of its food head first.
I wonder how it figures this out. Does the parent teach it or does it just do what comes naturally?
