A male Red-bellied Turtle.

How do I know it's a male? Because of its long front claws.

Why the long claws? In addition to using its claws to fight with other males, prior to mating the male turtle often flutters his claws in a vibrating motion on the female's face and strokes the female's nose using its claws.
