These three immature Black-bellied Whistling Duck "ducklings"  were with four more of their siblings, making a total of 7 - two short from the count of nine that I was looking for.

But then I saw a parent nearby with two more "ducklings" and then another parent with yet two more "ducklings".

Point being, I suspect that the family with nine ducklings still has nine ducklings but that at this age, the "ducklings" begin to split up and stay with each other or their parents.

At least that's what I want to believe.
