A cluster of Channel Apple Snail eggs.

What's the big deal about Apple Snail eggs? Well it turns out that Apple Snails are the favorite food of the Limpkins and they need a lot of them to feed their chicks which start appearing in March.

Unfortunately, for reasons not known to me, there are many fewer Apple Snail egg clusters now as compared to last year. So this year may not be a good year for raising large Limpkin families.
