In real estate the saying is that the three most important aspects of a property are location, location, and location.

In a similar way, I think that in wild life photography, the three most important aspect of a picture are setting, setting, and setting.

Yes the subject is important too. But for me finding subjects is fairly easy compared to finding subjects in attractive settings. So I often look for good settings first and then I look for subjects in those settings.
