An adult Killdeer foraging in the Cypress woods flats.

There have been a few of these birds here for the last few days. And occasionally I see them at the edges of farm fields in the area. So I know they are not uncommon.

Still, I consider them a treat to shoot as I just love their distinctive black and white markings and the dramatic orange coloring around their eye.
