Well it looks like there is only one Great Blue Heron chick left at the second nest on Anhinga Island.

Some say there were three chicks at one time, but I only ever saw two.

Anyway, in this case my guess is that the missing chick fell prey to a Hawk or one of the resident Ospreys as the parents have been leaving the chicks unguarded at too early an age while they hunted food.
