A pair of Black-necked Stilts checking out an Alligator.

As I watched this scene unfold, I feared for the Stilts who seemed to be drawn to the Alligator like a moth to a flame.

But my guess is that the Stilts had a nest nearby and wanted the Alligator to leave.

In any event, the Stilts taunted the Alligator until it lunged at one, missed by a mile, and swam away.
