This pair of Great Blue Herons have just started to build their nest.
Seems a little late, given that some couples already have fledglings that are over a month old.
But hey, these are mature Great Blue Herons, so I'm going with the thought that they know what they are doing.
Besides, the first year Great Blue Herons in the nest next to them are just starting their family. So why shouldn't this pair do the same?
